This is real MetaBrain output — title with confidence score, description, and 45 scored keywords. No editing, no templates.

You shoot hundreds of photos and videos.
Tagging them takes longer than the shoot.

Professional microstock photographers spend 3–5 minutes per image writing titles, descriptions, and keyword sets. For a 200-image shoot, that's up to 16 hours of repetitive, low-value work.

  • ·Every other tool gives the same output to everyone — regardless of your niche, style, or agency.
  • ·They don't adapt. A wildlife photographer and a corporate videographer get identical keyword logic.
  • ·When Shutterstock or Adobe Stock change their rules, template tools don't update — you do.
  • ·MetaBrain learns from your corrections. Ban a word once — it stays banned. Add a term — it becomes required. Permanently.
  • ·Agency guidelines are monitored by the MetaBrain team and pushed live. You stay compliant without touching the app.
  • ·We're not developers — we're stock contributors, just like you. MetaBrain was built from our own frustrations and expectations, with one goal: maximum output quality and a workflow so simple it takes just a couple of clicks.

Four Processing Modes

Four distinct workflows built for different shooting scenarios. Pick the one that fits your task and get started.

How it works

01

Drop your files

Drag images or videos directly into MetaBrain. Supports JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WEBP, EPS, AI, SVG, MP4, MOV and more.

02

AI generates metadata

The AI engine analyses your content and returns a scored title, description and 49 ranked keywords in seconds — or anywhere from 20 to 80 if you move the output slider.

03

Review and export

Edit any chip, confirm the result, then write metadata directly to your files or export as CSV for bulk upload.

All modes in action

Four workflows. One tool.

MetaBrain Mode A: Universal Mode

The default mode, right for most jobs: drop photos, videos or illustrations and get a ready title, description and keywords. Optionally add a few of your own shots on a similar subject and the new generation follows their style — useful for editorial series or brand consistency.

What we can do

Correction Intelligence

MetaBrain builds a personal style rulebook from your edits. Remove a keyword 3 times and it is permanently banned. Add one 3 times and it becomes mandatory. Title and description patterns are remembered too — and applied automatically in every mode.

Ground Truth

AI misread your image? Tell it what is actually true in plain text — demographics, emotion, location, commercial intent — and it rewrites title, description, and keywords to match, with no hedging. Your first correction on every image is free.

Relevance Scores

Every keyword is scored 0–100 for how closely it matches what a buyer would search. Bright chips are core terms, mid-tone chips are supporting long-tail — set your own threshold and triage the weak tail in seconds.

IP & Brand Scanner

Free, one-click scan for logos, trademarks, licence plates, and named storefronts that need a property release. Flagged objects are boxed directly on the thumbnail — decide to license as editorial, retouch, or exclude before you submit.

Inspector

One click audits every result against agency requirements — title/description length, banned terms, duplicate keywords, and spelling against a 46,000-word dictionary that catches even a single missing or extra letter.

Rejection Predictor

Before AI processing even starts, MetaBrain runs 5 technical checks on every image: resolution, sharpness, exposure, noise, and color cast. Issues are flagged with colored badges — catch rejection-prone files before you submit.

Trend Score

Every result gets a market-demand score from 0–100, matched against live agency creative briefs. Open the full Trend Panel for matched briefs, oversaturated keywords to avoid, and personalised trending terms to add — before you upload. The score is free on every plan; the full brief with recommendations is included from Hobby.

Write & Export

MetaBrain writes Title, Description, and Keywords directly into your JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and video files via exiftool — no copy-paste. Export as CSV in 22 agency-specific profiles (Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Getty, iStock, Pond5 Music, AudioJungle and more), XMP sidecar, JSON, or DOCX.

Getty & iStock Vocabulary

Getty Images and iStock do not accept free-text keywords: every submission is matched against their own controlled vocabulary. Whatever does not match comes back red in ESP for you to fix by hand, one chip at a time - on a real file of ours that was 25 keywords out of 47. MetaBrain matches your keywords to that vocabulary before export and translates your wording into theirs: "workout" becomes Exercising, "cellphone" becomes Mobile Phone, "checkup" becomes Medical Exam. Words that carry several meanings there are resolved to the sense your image is about, and terms the vocabulary has no entry for are left out instead of failing silently at ESP. One vocabulary serves both Getty and iStock.

Upload to Agencies

Send your finished files straight to Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Pond5, Dreamstime, Depositphotos and 123RF over FTP/SFTP — metadata already embedded, right from the app. Per-agency progress bars, and every delivered master gets a green Finder tag instead of being moved, so Bridge collections and Lightroom links stay intact. Photos and tracks can travel in the same batch — each agency sheet carries only the media it accepts. Included from the Hobby plan.

Portfolio Analytics (Pro, beta)

Connect your entire published Shutterstock portfolio in one click — a small bookmark button, no extension and no API keys, in any desktop browser. MetaBrain scans your whole catalog and all-time sales, compares them with live agency demand briefs, and builds a personal coach report: a portfolio audit, demand gaps to shoot next, a concrete shot plan (exportable to PDF), sales analytics (earning themes vs dead weight), agency brief coverage, and a plan that refreshes every month. It reads only your own contributor dashboard and sends only aggregated statistics — never your images or password. Pro plan; currently in beta.

Music & Audio (App & Studio, beta)

Drop a WAV, MP3 or AIFF and MetaBrain treats it as music, not as a picture with a soundtrack. It MEASURES the track — length, tempo, key and Camelot, integrated loudness, loudness range, true peak, format — and hands the model those facts instead of letting it guess them. You get a title, description and keywords written for how music is actually bought: by use case, mood, instrument and tempo. Delivery is built in: tags written inside the file (ID3, RIFF LIST-INFO and broadcast BWF), 15/30/60-second cuts bounced on the tempo grid, cover-art checks, CSV for Pond5 Music, Storyblocks, Motion Array and AudioJungle, and a distributor release sheet with ISRC, splits and AI disclosure.

AudioJungle watermark & MP3 (App & Studio)

Envato is the one library that makes the author watermark the preview, and their rules are exact: every ten seconds on a long track, five on a short one, the sample unaltered. MetaBrain lays their watermark over your track at their interval, never touches your master, and writes the preview as MP3 320 CBR — the format their upload form asks for. Convert any track to MP3 320 in one click while you are there.

Trend for music (App & Studio)

A track has no subject, so the picture Trend Score means nothing for it. The music engine answers a different question — what to do with this track next — from what was measured: short versions a library licenses but you have not cut, loudness sitting below the shelf everything else is auditioned at, use-case words a brief could match, tempo against how the genre is actually searched, seasonal windows that open months before the date, and how full the shelf your keywords name already is. Shelf sizes are measured on AudioJungle, not guessed: the panel says "494,078 tracks are already there" and points at the freest word you yourself chose.

Catalogue analysis for musicians (App)

Point MetaBrain at a folder of masters and it maps the whole catalogue: which tempo and length cells are empty, whether everything sits in one key mode, how far levels jump between tracks, which seasons you have nothing for and when their upload window opens, and how much of the catalogue is stacked on one crowded shelf. Files it could not measure are named, not quietly dropped.

Why not just ChatGPT?

The model is the easy part

Any chat model can write keywords. Whether buyers find the file — and whether the agency keeps those keywords at all — is decided by everything around that answer.

Words the agency will actually keep

Getty and iStock ingest only terms from their own controlled vocabulary and drop the rest without telling you. MetaBrain matches your keywords against it before export — against the agency’s own service, not a guess — and picks the right sense when a word has several. A chat window has no way to know that list exists. In beta: a full match is not guaranteed.

It remembers your corrections

Say once that a word does not belong in your work and it stays out of every future batch; the words you always need stay in. A new chat starts from zero every time, and so does every file you paste into it.

Files leave ready to upload

Title, description and keywords are written into the files themselves, exported as CSV in each agency’s own column layout, and delivered over FTP/SFTP straight to Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Pond5 and others. A chat hands you text you still have to place by hand, file after file.

Made for a shoot, not for a prompt

Drop three hundred files and walk away: four modes, keyword blocks, duplicate detection, and a separate angle per frame so a similar series is not rejected as duplicates. No prompt to maintain, no copy-paste per image.

The same models sit underneath. The difference is how much work is left on your side, and how much of your metadata survives the agency’s ingestion.
