1. Merchant of Record
All payments for MetaBrain subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means Paddle is the legal seller for billing purposes and is responsible for processing refunds and handling payment disputes. When you request a refund, it will be processed through Paddle and returned to your original payment method. Paddle's own refund and billing policies apply in conjunction with this policy.
2. Subscription Refunds
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your MetaBrain subscription, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of your initial subscription payment. This guarantee applies to first-time purchases of any paid subscription tier and does not apply to subsequent renewal charges.
Renewal Charges. Subscription renewals are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law. We send no reminder emails before renewal — it is your responsibility to cancel before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue your subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until that date.
Partial Periods. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused portions of a subscription period when a subscription is cancelled mid-cycle. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
3. Credit Pack Refunds
Credit packs (one-time purchases of processing credits) are non-refundable once any credits from the pack have been consumed. If you have purchased a credit pack and have not used any credits from it, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
Credits have no monetary value, do not expire, and cannot be exchanged or transferred between accounts.
4. Eligibility Conditions
A refund request may be denied if any of the following conditions apply:
- The 14-day refund window has elapsed since the original purchase date.
- The account has been suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
- The request appears to be part of a pattern of abuse (e.g., repeated purchase and refund cycles).
- Credits from the purchased pack have been fully or partially consumed.
- The subscription has already been used to process a substantial number of images during the billing period.
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please contact us at support@metabrain.online with the following information:
- The email address associated with your MetaBrain account.
- The date and amount of the charge you wish to refund.
- A brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. Once approved, refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your payment method and bank.
6. Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Filing an unjustified chargeback may result in the immediate suspension of your MetaBrain account and may affect your ability to use the Service in the future. We will provide full documentation to Paddle and your payment provider to contest fraudulent chargebacks.
7. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation. In particular, if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may have additional rights under EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, including a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services not yet consumed. Where statutory rights provide greater protection than this policy, those rights take precedence.
8. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs any refund request for that purchase.
